Whereas, U.S. Army Private First Class Evan Bixler was born on June 8, 1985,
4in Racine, Wisconsin, and died on December 24, 2006, of injuries sustained from
5enemy indirect fire during security operations in Hit, Iraq; and

Whereas, Private First Class Bixler was a loving and devoted son to Kevin and
7Lisa Bixler of Racine; and

Whereas, Private First Class Bixler graduated from Racine Washington Park
9High School in 2003; and

Whereas, Private First Class Bixler served with distinction and honor with the
111st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry
12Division, United States Army; and

Whereas, Private First Class Bixler joined the U.S. Army in April 2006 and
14graduated from basic training in August before shipping out to Baumholder,
15Germany; and

1Whereas, Private First Class Bixler made the ultimate sacrifice while proudly
2defending his country and advancing the cause of freedom for the Iraqi people; and

Whereas, Private First Class Bixler will always be remembered for his bravery,
4courage, and love of family and friends; now, therefore, be it

5Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of
6the state of Wisconsin commends the devoted service that Army Private First Class
7Evan Bixler gave unselfishly to his country, his state, and his community; expresses
8its sorrow at his death; and extends its deepest sympathy to his family and friends;

10Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint
11resolution to Private First Class Bixler's parents, Kevin E. and Lisa M. Bixler, his
12sister, Amy T. Bixler, and his grandparents, John F. and Carol A. Neufeld, all of
