Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Jauch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the citizen delegates from Superior Days. Recognizing the efforts of those who organize and participate in Superior Days events during its 25th anniversary. The Senator would like to adjourn today in honor of Superior Days on its 25th anniversary. It is the most successful grassroots lobbying effort in the State of Wisconsin and has inspired numerous other regional lobbying efforts across the state. Superior Days is an effective way for average citizens to make their community pride and desire to influence the decision making process known in Madison. Senator Jauch is very proud of the fact that there are well over 225 citizens of all ages from northern Wisconsin who have come together. Student participation is especially strong; there are over 30 students who have come down and are working hard preparing themselves. There are many enraged citizens today, but these are engaged citizens, and we're all grateful that they are here.
Senator Harsdorf, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Molly Engstrom, a forward on the United States Women's Hockey Team and native of Siren. Molly has scored three goals and has four assists already in the Olympic Tournament and will be playing for the gold medal with her teammates against Canada on Thursday.
Senator Lehman, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the Senate Scholars, who are here with us this week. We salute their commitment to spend this time - in spite of their busy high school schedules - to learn about Wisconsin government.
