AB450,1,2 1An Act to create 20.435 (5) (cd) and 46.535 of the statutes; relating to: grants
2for crisis intervention team training and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services (DHS) to award grants for
mental health crisis intervention team training for law enforcement agencies and
correctional officers. The total amount of the moneys to be awarded as grants in each
fiscal biennium is $250,000 under the bill, and DHS pays those grants from general
purpose revenue.

printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB450,2 1Section 2. 20.435 (5) (cd) of the statutes is created to read:
AB450,2,42 20.435 (5) (cd) Crisis intervention training grants. Biennially, the amounts in
3the schedule for awarding grants for mental health crisis intervention team training
4under s. 46.535.
AB450,3 5Section 3. 46.535 of the statutes is created to read:
AB450,2,10 646.535 Crisis intervention training grants. From the appropriation under
7s. 20.435 (5) (cd), the department shall award grants in the total amount of $250,000
8in each fiscal biennium for mental health crisis intervention team training for law
9enforcement agencies, as described in s. 165.77 (1) (c), and correctional officers, as
10defined in s. 102.475 (8) (a).
