20.435 (5) (cd) and 46.535 of the statutes; relating to: grants
2for crisis intervention team training and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services (DHS) to award grants for
mental health crisis intervention team training for law enforcement agencies and
correctional officers. The total amount of the moneys to be awarded as grants in each
fiscal biennium is $250,000 under the bill, and DHS pays those grants from general

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert 4
the following amounts for the purposes indicated:

From the appropriation under 7
s. 20.435 (5) (cd), the department shall award grants in the total amount of $250,000 8
in each fiscal biennium for mental health crisis intervention team training for law 9
enforcement agencies, as described in s. 165.77 (1) (c), and correctional officers, as 10
defined in s. 102.475 (8) (a).
