7“4. If the joint committee for review of administrative rules approves a petition
8under subd. 3. a., the joint committee shall notify the agency. The joint committee
9shall also notify the presiding officer of each house of the legislature, who shall,
10within 10 working days following the day on which the notice is received, direct the
11appropriate chief clerk to refer the petition to one standing committee. Each
12standing committee may approve or deny the petition, but if the chairperson of a
13standing committee does not, within 10 days after receipt of the petition, notify the
1agency that it has scheduled a meeting for the purpose of reviewing the petition, the
2petition is considered approved by that committee. The chairperson of a standing
3committee shall notify the agency of any affirmative action taken under this
4subdivision to approve or deny a petition.”.
