AB319,1,2 1An Act to repeal 115.882; and to amend 20.255 (2) (b) of the statutes; relating

increase funding for special education.

This bill increases state aid to school districts for special education and school
age parents programs provided by the school district to no less than 33 percent of the
school district's certified, eligible costs.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB319,1 3Section 1. 20.255 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB319,2,24 20.255 (2) (b) Aids for special education and school age parents programs. The
5amounts in the schedule
A sum sufficient for the payment of aids for board and
6lodging aid and hospitals and convalescent home aid under s. 115.88 (3) and (4) and
7to reimburse school districts for no less than 33 percent of the costs of the
special

1education and school age parents programs certified as eligible for reimbursement
2under ss. 115.88 (1), (1m) (a) and (am), (2), (2m), (6), and (8), 115.93, and 118.255.
AB319,2 3Section 2. 115.882 of the statutes is repealed.
AB319,3 4Section 3. Effective date.
AB319,2,65 (1) This act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after
6publication of the 2017-19 biennial budget act, whichever is later.
