AR20,1,2 1Relating to: celebrating the success of the Wisconsin Capitol 100th Anniversary
AR20,1,43 Whereas, on the evening of November 8, 2017, more than 750 people attended
4the Wisconsin Capitol 100th Anniversary Gala; and
AR20,1,65 Whereas, the Gala represented the culmination of several activities and events
6marking a century since Wisconsin's fourth capitol building was completed; and
AR20,1,87 Whereas, attendees came together, regardless of political party, to celebrate
8this important milestone for one of Wisconsin's most valued treasures; and
AR20,1,119 Whereas, the Gala also allowed for an opportunity to remember all of the events
10that have transpired and all those who have served within the capitol building over
11the last ten decades; and
AR20,1,1412 Whereas, the Gala began with a Forward Reception, which included speeches
13from Speaker Robin Vos, Senator Fred Risser, former Governor Tommy Thompson,
14and Governor Scott Walker; and
1Whereas, the main event included dinner, live music, and dancing, as attendees
2took in the majesty of the historic capitol building; and
AR20,2,43 Whereas, the proceeds from the Gala will go to the Capitol Restoration Fund
4in order to make repairs to the ceiling of the State Assembly chamber; and
AR20,2,75 Whereas, the members of the assembly would like to thank the seven-member
6Gala Work Group for their hard work in putting together this wonderful celebration;
AR20,2,98 Whereas, the 100th Anniversary State Capitol Commemorative Commission
9oversaw the centennial activities and events throughout the past year; and
AR20,2,1310 Whereas, the Gala and other commemorative activities would not have been
11possible without legislative staff, the Department of Administration, the Capitol
12Police, the Historical Society, dedicated volunteers, and sponsors; now, therefore, be
AR20,2,18 14Resolved by the assembly, That the Wisconsin Assembly extends its sincere
15gratitude and appreciation to all those who helped make the Wisconsin Capitol 100th
16Anniversary Gala a resounding success and celebrates the centennial anniversary
17of the magnificent capitol building, our state's most cherished monument to
