SB17,1,3 1An Act to amend 941.29 (4) of the statutes; relating to: purchasing or
2possessing a firearm for a person who is prohibited from possessing a firearm
3and providing a criminal penalty.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a person who furnishes with a firearm a person who is
prohibited from possessing a firearm may be convicted of illegally possessing a
firearm, a Class G felony. This bill adds that a person who purchases or intentionally
possesses a firearm for a person who is prohibited from possessing a firearm may be
convicted of illegally possessing a firearm.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB17,1 4Section 1. 941.29 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB17,2,25 941.29 (4) A person is concerned with the commission of a crime, as specified
6in s. 939.05 (2) (b), in violation of this section if he or she knowingly furnishes a

with a firearm in violation of this section a person who is prohibited under
8this section from possessing a firearm, purchases a firearm for a person who is

1prohibited under this section from possessing a firearm, or intentionally possesses
2a firearm for a person who is prohibited under this section from possessing a firearm
