1An Act to amend 46.535 of the statutes;
relating to: crisis intervention team
2grants and making an appropriation.

This bill increases the amount of moneys that the Department of Health
Services is required to award in grants for mental health crisis intervention team
training for law enforcement agencies and correctional officers from $250,000 per
fiscal biennium to $1,000,000 per fiscal biennium. The bill also allows grant moneys
to be used for overtime costs.

446.535 Crisis intervention training grants. From the appropriation under
5s. 20.435 (5) (cd), the department shall award grants in the total amount of
$250,000 6$1,000,000 in each fiscal biennium for mental health crisis intervention team
7training for law enforcement agencies, as described in s. 165.77 (1) (c), and
1correctional officers, as defined in s. 102.475 (8) (a).
Grant moneys awarded under

Crisis intervention team grants. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3)
5of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of health services under
6section 20.435 (5) (cd) of the statutes, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2017-18 is
7increased by $375,000 for the purposes for which the appropriation is made. In the
8schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the
9department of health services under section 20.435 (5) (cd) of the statutes, the dollar
10amount for fiscal year 2018-19 is increased by $375,000 for the purposes for which
11the appropriation is made.
