“Interior design” does not include services that constitute the practice of
the practice of professional engineering.
440.96 (1r) (b) 2. of the statutes is created to read:
(b) 2. “Interior design” does not include engineering any of the 2
a. Foundations, beams, trusses, columns, or other primary structural framing 4
members or seismic systems.
b. Structural concrete slabs, roof framing structures, or load-bearing or shear 6
c. Openings in a roof or exterior wall.
d. Exterior elements, including doors, windows, awnings, canopies, sunshades, 9
signage, and other similar exterior building elements.
e. Heating, ventilating, or air conditioning equipment or distribution systems; 11
building management systems; high or medium voltage electrical distribution 12
systems; standby or emergency power or distributions systems; plumbing; plumbing 13
distribution systems; fire alarm systems; fire sprinkler systems; security or 14
monitoring systems; or other related building systems.”.
