SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE BILL 303

SB303-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB303-SA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 1: after “(1r)" insert “(a)".

SB303-SA1,1,3 2. Page 2, line 3: after “(1r)" insert “(a)".

SB303-SA1,1,5 3. Page 2, line 6: delete “interior life safety," and substitute “ building code descriptions, egress plans,".

SB303-SA1,1,6 4. Page 2, line 8: delete “substantially" and substitute “substantially".

SB303-SA1,1,8 5. Page 2, line 9: delete lines 9 and 10 and substitute “structural systems of a building.

SB303-SA1,1,10 (b) 1. “Interior design” does not include services that constitute the practice of architecture or the practice of professional engineering.

SB303-SA1,1m Section 1m. 440.96 (1r) (b) 2. of the statutes is created to read:

SB303-SA1,2,2 440.96 (1r) (b) 2. “Interior design” does not include engineering any of the following:

SB303-SA1,2,4 a. Foundations, beams, trusses, columns, or other primary structural framing members or seismic systems.

SB303-SA1,2,6 b. Structural concrete slabs, roof framing structures, or load-bearing or shear walls.

SB303-SA1,2,7 c. Openings in a roof or exterior wall.

SB303-SA1,2,9 d. Exterior elements, including doors, windows, awnings, canopies, sunshades, signage, and other similar exterior building elements.

SB303-SA1,2,14 e. Heating, ventilating, or air conditioning equipment or distribution systems; building management systems; high or medium voltage electrical distribution systems; standby or emergency power or distributions systems; plumbing; plumbing distribution systems; fire alarm systems; fire sprinkler systems; security or monitoring systems; or other related building systems.”.
