Issuance of the Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) General Construction Storm Water Discharge Permit for Transportation Activities, WPDES General Permit No. WI-S066796-1 (general permit)

Effective April 2, 2018, the Department of Natural Resources (Department) has issued the general permit described above. The general permit is effective for 5 years and will expire on March 31, 2023.

The general permit covers storm water discharges associated with land disturbing construction activities for transportation projects undertaken by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). The general permit applies to new and existing WisDOT storm water discharges to waters of the state throughout Wisconsin and is issued under the statutory authority granted to the Department pursuant to ss. 283.33 (storm water discharge permits) and 283.35 (general permits), Stats.
