Rule Submittal Date
On May 20, 2020, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse.
The scope statement for this rule, SS 102-18, was approved by the Governor on August 27, 2018, published in Register No. 753A1 on September 4, 2018, and approved by the Secretary of Revenue on September 20, 2018.
Analysis
2015 Wisconsin Acts 126 and 170 and 2017 Wisconsin Acts 17, 59, 190, 231, and 290 have made numerous changes to Wisconsin's sales and use tax laws. The department has created this proposed rule order to reflect these statutory changes, as well as provide needed clarification and correction.
Agency Procedure for Promulgation
A public hearing on the proposed rule is required and will be scheduled.
The Office of the Secretary is primarily responsible for the promulgation of the proposed rule.
