Notice of Submittal of Proposed Rule to
Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse
On November 2, 2020 the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Clearinghouse pursuant to s. 227.15 (1), Wis. Stats.
Analysis
The proposed rules affect Chapters NR 20, relating to Minocqua Chain walleye harvest regulations. The proposed permanent rule would establish a limited harvest regulation for walleye on the Minocqua Chain of Lakes in Oneida County, following several years of catch-and-release fishing by both state recreational anglers and tribal anglers.
A related emergency rule, EmR 2004, affecting the same Administrative Code provisions contained in this proposed rule and relating to the same purpose has been published and is in effect.
 
Statement of Scope
The scope statement for this rule, SS 115-19, was approved by the Governor on Nov. 21, 2019, published in Register No. 768 A1, on Dec. 2, 2019, and approved by the Natural Resources Board on Jan. 21, 2020.
Agency Procedure for Promulgation
A public hearing is required and will be held in spring of 2021.
