PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notice of Comment Resetting State-Determined Performance Levels Under the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V)
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (WDPI) is seeking to revise the state-determined levels of performance for core indicators of performance as part of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V). The initial state-determined performance levels were outlined in the Wisconsin Perkins V State Plan.
Pursuant to Sec. 113(b)(3)(A)(iii) of the Act, states may redefine their performance levels if unanticipated circumstances arise. Revisions to the initial performance indicators were approved in August 2021. Due to the on-going disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the state is proposing to further revise the following state determined level of performance (with corresponding numbers aligned to federal references):
- 5S3: Work-based Learning Participation: The percentage of CTE concentrators graduating from high school who have participated in work-based learning.
Further pursuant to the Act, the WDPI is required to provide an opportunity for the public to comment on its intent to revise its performance levels.
