Notice of Preliminary Public Hearing and Comment Period on Statement of Scope
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announces that it will hold a preliminary public hearing on statement of scope SS 034-22, indicating WisDOT’s intent to engage in rulemaking to revise ch. Trans 102, Wis. Admin. Code, relating to operator’s licenses and identification cards. The statement of scope for this proposed rule was published in Wis. Admin. Registister No. 796A3 on April 18, 2022. In accordance with s. 227.136, Stats., WisDOT will hold a preliminary public hearing and receive public comments regarding the proposed rulemaking as described in SS 034-22, as follows, at the time and place shown below.

Rule Information
This is a statement of scope for a proposed permanent rule. No rule has yet been drafted. These changes are proposed to reconcile out of date provisions in ch. Trans 102, relating to operator’s licenses and identification cards. This rulemaking will improve department procedures and processes and be consistent with state laws and federal laws and regulations. The anticipated modifications to the existing rule will not change the objective of the rule.

Comments on the proposed scope statement must be received on or before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
