PUBLIC NOTICE

Funding for Issuance of New Registration Plates Approved

  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to s. 13.10, Stats., the Joint Committee on Finance approved one-time funding for the issuance of new registration plates under s. 341.135, Stats., on August 16, 2022.

2021 Wisconsin Act 163, Section 9 (1), requires the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to publish the date on which the Joint Committee on Finance approves ongoing funding for the issuance of new registration plates under s. 341.135 (2), Stats., to begin replacing certain older motor vehicle registration plates with registration plates constructed under the criteria specified in 2021 Wisconsin Act 163 on that date and in a time frame determined by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and to complete such replacement no later than July 1, 2032.
