SB144-SA8,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB144-SA8,1,2 21. Page 8, line 8: after that line insert:
SB144-SA8,1,5 3"(ar) If a sheriff has in his or her possession a firearm that has been surrendered
4under par. (a) 2., the sheriff shall store the firearm in accordance with all of the
5following requirements:
SB144-SA8,1,76 1. The firearm shall be stored in a place in which the humidity is controlled in
7a way that ensures that the firearm will not rust or corrode.
SB144-SA8,1,98 2. The firearm shall be stored in a rack and on pegs that ensure that the firearm
9will not come into contact with another firearm.
SB144-SA8,1,1210 3. If the firearm is antique or rare or is otherwise similar to a museum object,
11the firearm shall be stored in a manner that preserves and safeguards the firearm
12to the same degree as the manner of storage used by the firearm's owner.
SB144-SA8,1,1413 (at) A sheriff to whom a firearm has been surrendered under par. (a) 2. is liable
14for any damage caused to that firearm while it is in the possession of the sheriff.".
