AB493-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB493-AA2,1,2 1. Page 2, line 1: delete that line and substitute:

AB493-AA2,1,3 " Section 1g. 943.50 (1) (ar), (as) and (at) of the statutes are created to read:

AB493-AA2,1,6 943.50 (1) (ar) "Theft detection device" means any tag or other device that is used to prevent or detect theft and that is attached to merchandise held for resale by a merchant or to property of a merchant.

AB493-AA2,1,9 (as) "Theft detection device remover" means any tool or device designed and primarily intended for use in removing a theft detection device from merchandise held for resale by a merchant or property of a merchant.

AB493-AA2,1,12 (at) "Theft detection shielding device" means any laminated or coated bag or device designed to shield merchandise held for resale by a merchant or property of a merchant from being detected by an electronic or magnetic theft alarm sensor.

AB493-AA2, s. 1r Section 1r. 943.50 (1m) of the statutes is renumbered 943.50 (1m) (intro.) and amended to read:".

AB493-AA2,2,4 2. Page 2, line 19: delete that line and substitute "a theft detection device from".

AB493-AA2,2,5 3. Page 2, line 20: after that line insert:

AB493-AA2,2,6 " Section 4m. 943.50 (1m) (d) and (e) of the statutes are created to read:

AB493-AA2,2,9 943.50 (1m) (d) Uses, or possesses with intent to use, a theft detection shielding device to shield merchandise held for resale by a merchant or property of merchant from being detected by an electronic or magnetic theft alarm sensor.

AB493-AA2,2,12 (e) Uses, or possesses with intent to use, a theft detection device remover to remove a theft detection device from merchandise held for resale by a merchant or property of a merchant.".
