SENATE AMENDMENT 39, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 768

AB768-SA39,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by assembly substitute amendment 1, as follows:

AB768-SA39,1,4 1. Page 12, line 18: after "aid;" insert "aid to Milwaukee Public Schools for summer school;".

AB768-SA39,1,5 2. Page 31, line 25: after that line insert:

AB768-SA39,1,6 " Section 29m. 20.255 (2) (fs) of the statutes is created to read:

AB768-SA39,1,9 20.255 (2) (fs) Summer school; 1st class city school districts. A sum sufficient to pay 50% of the costs of summer school in the school district operating under ch. 119, as provided in s. 119.83.".

AB768-SA39,1,10 3. Page 293, line 5: after that line insert:

AB768-SA39,1,11 " Section 386g. 119.83 of the statutes is created to read:

AB768-SA39,2,2 119.83 Summer school. Beginning in the 1999-2000 school year, the state superintendent shall pay to the board, from the appropriation under s. 20.255 (2) (fs), 50% of the cost incurred by the board to operate summer school in the previous school year.".
