ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 7, TO 1997 SENATE BILL 3

SB3-AA7,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the engrossed bill as follows:

SB3-AA7,1,2 1. Page 1, line 3: after "bodies" insert "and making an appropriation".

SB3-AA7,1,3 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

SB3-AA7,1,4 " Section 1. 20.370 (6) (ac) of the statutes is created to read:

SB3-AA7,1,6 20.370 (6) (ac) Assistance to areas proposed for mining. A sum sufficient to provide financial assistance under s. 293.50 (2m) for areas proposed for mining.".

SB3-AA7,1,7 3. Page 2, line 1: substitute "Section 1m" for "Section 1".

SB3-AA7,1,8 4. Page 3, line 6: after that line insert:

SB3-AA7,1,12 "(2m) If the secretary of natural resources determines that a permit under s. 293.49 would have been granted but for sub. (2), the department shall provide financial assistance to offset any net economic impact of the operation of sub. (2) on the area in which the mining operation was proposed.".
