ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 2001 SENATE BILL 18

SB18-AA1,1,2 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by senate substitute amendment 1, as follows:

SB18-AA1,1,6 1. Page 1, line 1: after "program" insert ", requiring the department of health and family services to request a federal waiver from the federal secretary of health and human services to provide health care coverage under the badger care health care program to individuals regardless of citizenship or alien status,".

SB18-AA1,1,7 2. Page 1, line 3: delete that line and substitute:

SB18-AA1,1,8 " Section 1m. Nonstatutory provisions.

SB18-AA1,2,2 (1) Badger care health care program waiver. Not later than January 1, 2002, the department of health and family services shall request a waiver from the federal secretary of health and human services to provide health care coverage to individuals regardless of citizenship or alien status under the badger care health care program under section 49.665 of the statutes. If the department receives the waiver, the department shall implement the waiver to individuals.
