AB587-AA5,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB587-AA5,1,2 1. Page 30, line 12: delete lines 12 to 17.

AB587-AA5,1,4 2. Page 32, line 5: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with page 33, line 7, and substitute:

AB587-AA5,1,12 "422.616 Voluntary surrender; nonjudicial enforcement limited. (1) A lessee shall have the right at any time to voluntarily surrender all of the lessee's rights and interests in the rental property to the rental-purchase company. The surrender of rental property by a lessee is not a voluntary surrender if it is made pursuant to a request or demand by the rental-purchase company for the surrender of the rental property, or if it is made pursuant to a threat, statement, or notice by the rental-purchase company that the rental-purchase company intends to take possession of the rental property.

AB587-AA5,2,4 (2) No rental-purchase company may take or attempt to take possession of rental property under a rental-purchase agreement by any means other than the legal process specified in s. 422.615 or by voluntary surrender of the rental property by the lessee.".
