AB844-ASA2-AA1,1,5 53. Page 60, line 5: delete lines 5 to 17 and substitute:
AB844-ASA2-AA1,2,13 6"(3c) Mental health and alcohol and drug abuse treatment benefit. The
7Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan Authority shall assess the historic utilization
8experience and diagnosis-related needs of the persons who are, and persons who
9have been, covered under the Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan to determine if
10the benefits under section 149.14 (3) (c) of the statutes, as affected by this act, for
11mental health and alcoholism and other drug abuse treatment provide for the use of
12evidence-based treatment standards and coverage levels sufficient to meet the

1mental health and alcoholism and other drug abuse treatment needs of persons
2covered under the Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan. No later than December
32006, the Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan Authority shall submit a report of its
4findings to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature in the manner
5provided under section 13.172 (3) of the statutes and to the governor. On or after
6January 1, 2007, the Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan Authority shall make any
7necessary adjustments to the minimum required benefits under section 149.14 (3)
8(c) of the statutes, as affected by this act, to ensure that persons covered under the
9Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan have appropriate access to evidence-based
10mental health and alcoholism and other drug abuse treatment strategies and, if
11necessary, shall submit to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature in
12the manner provided under section 13.172 (3) of the statutes and to the governor any
13proposed changes to section 149.14 (3) (c) of the statutes, as affected by this act.".
