(2p) Abstinence-only human growth and development. (a) In
7addition to the instructional program provided under sub. (2), a school board may
8offer courses in abstinence-only human growth and development. Courses offered
9under this subsection shall be made available to any pupil whose parent or guardian
10submits a written request that his or her child take instruction in abstinence-only
11human growth and development.

(b) A school board that elects to offer courses in abstinence-only human growth
13and development may establish policies to determine all of the following:

11. The subjects, identified under sub. (2), to be included in and excluded from
2the abstinence-only human growth and development curriculum.

2. Whether to offer an abstinence-only human growth and development course
4in any grade in any particular school year. Policies developed under this subdivision
5may include consideration of the level of interest in abstinence-only human growth
6and development courses among the parents and guardians of pupils enrolled in the
7school district.

(c) A school board that elects to offer courses in abstinence-only human growth
9and development shall provide to the parent or guardian of each child who is enrolled
10in an abstinence-only human growth and development course a complete list of all
11subjects identified under sub. (2) that will not be covered in the course offered under
12this subsection.".

(5) Advisory committee. In any school district that offers a human
2growth and development curriculum,
including an abstinence-only human growth
3and development curriculum, the school board shall appoint an advisory committee
4composed of parents, teachers, school administrators, pupils, health care
5professionals, members of the clergy
, and other residents of the school district. The
6advisory committee shall develop the human growth and development curriculum
7and, if applicable, the abstinence-only human growth and development curriculum, 8and advise the school board on the design, review
, and implementation of the
9advisory committee's human growth and development curriculum. The advisory
10committee shall review the curriculum at least every 3 years.".
