SB30-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB30-SA1,1,2 21. Page 2, line 1: delete lines 1 to 18.
SB30-SA1,1,3 32. Page 2, line 18: after that line insert:
SB30-SA1,1,4 4" Section 1m. 62.50 (5) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB30-SA1,2,25 62.50 (5) Examinations. The examinations which the rules and regulations
6provide for shall be public and free to all U.S. citizens with proper limitations as to
7residence, age, health subject to sub. (30); age; health; and, subject to ss. 111.321,
8111.322 and 111.335, arrest and conviction record. The examinations shall be
9practical in their character and shall relate to those matters which fairly test the
10relative capacity of the candidates to discharge the duties of the positions in which
11they seek employment or to which they seek to be appointed and may include tests
12of manual skill and physical strength. The board shall control all examinations and
13may designate suitable persons, either in the official service of the city or not, to

1conduct such examinations and may change such examiners at any time, as seems
2best.
SB30-SA1, s. 2m 3Section 2m. 62.50 (30) of the statutes is created to read:
SB30-SA1,2,64 62.50 (30) Residency requirements. If a 1st class city imposes a residency
5requirement on police officers or fire fighters, the residency requirement shall at
6least allow the police officers and fire fighters to live in all of the following:
SB30-SA1,2,77 (a) The county in which the 1st class city is entirely or predominantly located.
SB30-SA1,2,98 (b) Any county that is adjacent to the county in which the 1st class city is
9entirely or predominantly located.".
