(a)
In the 2017-18 fiscal year, the department of financial institutions may
6submit a request to the joint committee on finance for a specified amount of
7additional funding to cover one-time expenses related to the department's collection,
8in business entity filings, of business activity codes under sections 178.0901 (3) (e),
9178.1003 (6), 179.11 (1) (e), 179.82 (9), 180.0202 (1) (j), 180.1503 (1) (k), 181.0202 (1)
10(h), 181.1503 (1) (i), 183.0202 (7), 183.1004 (8), 185.05 (1) (n), and 193.215 (2) (a) 5.
11of the statutes and related to making these codes available to the department of
12revenue as provided in section 182.01 (7) of the statutes.

1(b)
If the cochairpersons of the joint committee on finance do not notify the
2department of financial institutions within 14 working days after the date of the
3submittal of the request under paragraph (a) that the committee has scheduled a
4meeting to review the request, the request is approved. If, within 14 working days
5after the date of the submittal of the request, the cochairpersons of the joint
6committee on finance notify the department of financial institutions that the
7committee has scheduled a meeting to review the request, the request is approved
8only upon express approval of the committee, as submitted or as modified by the
9committee.

11(1) Funding for the department of financial institutions. In the schedule
12under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of
13financial institutions under section 20.144 (1) (g) of the statutes, the dollar amount
14for fiscal year 2017-18 is increased by the amount approved by the joint committee
15on finance under
Section 29g (1) (b) of this act for the purpose specified in
Section
1629g (1) (a) of this act.”.
