"As you well know, each family member is unusually special. So was Dad! He was born in a farming area of Manitowoc County. He received a high school diploma, not common during that period - plowed the fields by horse and plow - went through a great depression - married my Mom, a lovely lady who was left alone at a very early age to be shifted from relative to relative, and they raised seven children.
He worked for the Polar Ware Company in Sheboygan for 39 years and, during 25 of those years, he worked another job for 4 hours a day.
One of the things that has provided me with a lasting memory was my Dad's special passion for voting. He told his family that "whether rich or poor, whatever religion, whether in a majority or minority, voting made each person equal." I can't remember a time he or my Mom ever missed a vote prior to entering a nursing home. He was indeed special".
