In fulfillment of Section 1.11 (2)(j) of the state statutes, this document provides information on the numbers of environmental assessments (EA's) and environmental impact statements (EIS's) completed by the Department in the past fiscal year.

The Honorable, The Senate:
In accordance with Sec. 1.11 (2)(j) Wis. Stats., the Department of Health and Family Services reports that one Environmental Assessment (EA) was conducted by the Department of Health and Family Services during the reporting period July 1, 1999, through June 30, 2000.
The EA was done for the project to construct a 15-bed addition to the Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison, Wisconsin. It was determined that the construction of this addition does not have a significant negative effect on the environment.
