I am writing to you regarding Assembly Bill 174, relating to immunity of private campground owners and operators. This bill was introduced by Representative Pettis on March 6, 2001.
It has just been brought to my attention that I am wrongly listed as the lead Senate sponsor of this legislation. I did not agree to cosponsor this bill nor did I ever speak to Representative Pettis regarding this legislation. I am baffled as to how my name was included on the list of cosponsors.
As such, I am requesting that you reprint the bill with my name removed. Furthermore, I would like you to print notification of the new cosponsors in the upcoming Assembly Journal.

1999 Wisconsin Act 9 required the Wisconsin Department of Administration to study the idea of selling and transferring Wisconsin's rights to revenues from the Master Tobacco Settlement Agreement of November 23, 1998, for the purpose of creating a permanent endowment fund. Pursuant to s.
13.172(2), Wisconsin Statutes, the Department of Administration is hereby submitting to the Legislature its findings and recommendations resulting from the above-referenced study.

To the Honorable, the Legislature:
As required by s.
13.94(1)(em), Wis. Stats., we have completed our annual financial audit of the Wisconsin Lottery, which is administered by the Department of Revenue. We have issued an unqualified opinion on the Wisconsin Lottery's fiscal year (FY) 1998-99 and FY 1999-2000 financial statements.
Overall, total lottery sales decreased from $428.2 million in FY 1998-99 to $406.7 million in FY 1999-2000. Sales of instant ticket lottery games, however, increased for the first time in four years, from $230.8 million in FY 1998-99 to $241.0 million in FY 1999-2000.
In
1999 Wisconsin Act 9, the Legislature provided general purpose revenue to fund certain lottery expenses, including retailer commissions and all administrative expenses except depreciation. These expenses totaled $76.0 million in FY 1999-2000. The budgetary funding provision was effective only in FY 1999-2000, and it contributed to an increase in the amount available for property tax relief from $153.9 million in FY 1998-99 to $232.3 million in FY 1999-2000.
