1An Act relating to: construction of a CTH "HH" bridge in Portage County and
2making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the department of transportation (DOT) administers a
program to fund local bridge construction and reconstruction. This bill provides
$7,015,500 in state funds for construction of a CTH "HH" bridge across the Wisconsin
River in Portage County. The bill also permits DOT to reimburse Portage County for
75% of the preliminary engineering costs relating to this bridge that are incurred by
Portage County.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

(1) (a) From the appropriation under section 20.395 (2) (aq) of the statutes, the
5department of transportation shall pay 75% of the preliminary engineering costs
6relating to a CTH "HH" bridge project in Portage County. Notwithstanding section
784.11 of the statutes, the department may reimburse Portage County, for
8preliminary engineering costs incurred by the county, to comply with this paragraph.

(b) This subsection does not apply after June 30, 1998.

In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation
3to the department of transportation under section 20.395 (2) (aq) of the statutes, as
4affected by the acts of 1995, the dollar amount is increased by $6,015,500 for fiscal
5year 1995-96 and the dollar amount is increased by $1,000,000 for fiscal year
61996-97 to increase funding for construction of a CTH "HH" bridge in Portage
7County.
