AB145,1,2 1An Act to amend 62.11 (2) of the statutes; relating to: notification of special
2meetings of the common council of a city.

Under current law, the mayor of a city may call a special meeting of the common
council by written notice delivered personally to each member or left at the member's
usual abode at least six hours before the meeting. Under this bill, the mayor may
call a special meeting by notifying members in a manner likely to give each member
notice of the meeting and providing the notice at least six hours before the meeting.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB145,1 3Section 1. 62.11 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB145,2,44 62.11 (2) Time of meeting. The council shall meet at least once a month, and
5on the first Tuesday unless a different day be fixed by the council. More frequent
6regular meetings may be established by the council, and the. The mayor may call a
7special meeting by written notice delivered personally to each member or left at the

3Following a regular city election the new council shall first meet on the 3rd Tuesday
4of April.
