AB706,1,2 1An Act to create 230.125 of the statutes; relating to: pay adjustments for state
2correctional officers who take certain other civil service positions.

This bill provides that individuals appointed to state correctional officer
positions must receive all pay adjustments scheduled for correctional officers during
their first two years of employment even if during that two-year period the
individual is appointed to a different position whose duties include the supervision
of correctional officers.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB706,1 3Section 1. 230.125 of the statutes is created to read:
AB706,1,5 4230.125 Pay adjustments for correctional officers. (1) In this section,
5“correctional officer" has the meaning given in s. 301.28 (1).
AB706,2,2 6(2) During the first 2 years after appointment to a correctional officer position,
7the person appointed to the position shall receive all pay adjustments scheduled for

1correctional officers even if during that 2-year period the person is appointed to a
2different position whose duties include the supervision of correctional officers.
AB706,2 3Section 2. Initial applicability.
AB706,2,54 (1) This act first applies to persons appointed as correctional officers on the
5effective date of this subsection.
