Whereas, on February 9, 2017, Representative Marcel Dandeneau passed away
4at the age of 85; and

Whereas, Representative Marcel Dandeneau served in the Wisconsin State
6Assembly from 1975 until 1979, representing the people of the 63rd Assembly
7District; and

Whereas, following his elected service in the Wisconsin State Assembly,
9Representative Marcel Dandeneau served as the chief clerk of the Wisconsin State
10Assembly from 1979 until 1981; and

Whereas, prior to his service in the Wisconsin State Assembly, Representative
12Marcel Dandeneau served the United States and the State of Wisconsin by proudly
13enlisting in the United States Army Field Artillery from 1951 to 1954, rising to the
14rank of sergeant; and

1Whereas, Representative Marcel Dandeneau was also very active in his
2community serving on the Caledonia Town Board and as the Caledonia town chair,
3and participating in the Racine Rotarians West and Kenosha Chamber of Commerce;

Whereas, Representative Marcel Dandeneau was a dedicated public servant,
6and the people of Wisconsin mourn his passing; and

Whereas, his legacy will be remembered as a strong, faithful member of the
8Democratic Party, lifelong public servant to his community, and a teacher who
9influenced many lives; now, therefore, be it

10Resolved by the
assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
11Wisconsin State Legislature salute Marcel Dandeneau, acknowledge his
12tremendous record of public service, and mourn his passing; and

13Be it further resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of
14this joint resolution to Marcel's wife, Shirley, and to his children, Renee Thomas, Jeff
15Dandeneau, Linda Huber, Denise Rankin, Roy Servais, and Yvonne Erdman.
