2grants to the Center for Suicide Awareness, Inc., and making an appropriation.

This bill requires the Department of Public Instruction to annually provide a
grant to the Center for Suicide Awareness, Inc. The purpose of the grant is to provide
funding for staff, training, and expenses related to operating a text-based suicide
prevention service. In each of the 2017-18 and 2018-19 fiscal years, the amount of
the grant to the Center for Suicide Awareness, Inc., is $110,000.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

SB787,3 4Section 3. 115.28 (44) of the statutes is created to read:
SB787,2,85 115.28 (44) Center for Suicide Awareness. Annually, distribute the amounts
6appropriated under s. 20.255 (3) (ct) to the Center for Suicide Awareness, Inc., to
7support staff, training, and expenses related to operating a text-based suicide
8prevention service.
