relating to: notice of change in polling

Under current law, polling places are required to be established for each
election at least 30 days before the election.
Under this bill, if a polling place changes its location after an election, notice
of that change must be mailed to each residence the polling place serves no later than
30 days before the next election.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1. 5.25 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:

(3) Polling places shall be established for each election at least 30 days
5before the election.
If a polling place changes its location after an election, the
6municipal clerk or board of election commissioners shall, no later than 30 days before
7the next election, provide notice of that change by mail to each residence in the area
1served by the polling place. The municipal clerk or board of election commissioners
2need not provide that notice during a public health emergency declared under s.
3323.10.
