Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires a person who commercially sells or transfers a firearm to
provide the purchaser or transferee with either a secure, lockable container that is
designed to store a firearm or a trigger lock for the firearm. A seller or transferor who
violates this requirement is subject to a fine of up to $500 or imprisonment for up to
30 days, or both.
