2Loop.
SJR95,1,53 Whereas, Representative William “Bill” Vander Loop, a public servant,
4veteran, and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed
5away on December 28, 2021, at age 89; and
SJR95,1,86 Whereas, Bill was born to Peter and Emma Vander Loop on December 6, 1932,
7and he grew up in Little Chute, graduating from St. John's grade school and high
8school; and
SJR95,1,109 Whereas, Bill was a loving husband to his wife Joyce and a loving father to their
10five children; and
SJR95,1,1211 Whereas, Bill lived an active life and had a lifelong passion for sports, which he
12passed on to his many children and grandchildren; and
SJR95,1,1413 Whereas, prior to joining the legislature, Bill worked for 38 years as a wood yard
14supervisor, and he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955; and

1Whereas, Bill was a Korean War Veteran, a member of the VFW Post 3319 of
2Kaukauna, and a proud member of the American Legion Post 258 of Little Chute for
366 years, where he served as commissioner, state vice commissioner, district
4commander, and post commander; and
SJR95,2,75 Whereas, Bill was a member of several other organizations throughout his life,
6including the Kaukauna Credit Union Board for 30 years, the Kaukauna Utility
7Board for 18 years, the Moose Club, and the Lions Club International; and
SJR95,2,118 Whereas, Bill proudly represented his community for eight years as an
9alderman for the City of Kaukauna and went on to represent the people of the 5th
10Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Legislature for another eight years, from
111991 until 1999; and
SJR95,2,1512 Whereas, during his tenure in the legislature, Bill was a tireless advocate for
13his community, and he served with expertise as vice-chair of the Veterans and
14Military Affairs Committee and as chair of the Labor and Job Training Committee;

SJR95,2,1816 Whereas, Bill is remembered fondly by his colleagues in the legislature as a
17servant leader who dedicated his life to helping others and continually strived to
18make his community a better place; now, therefore, be it
SJR95,2,21 19Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
20Wisconsin Legislature mourn the passing of Representative William Vander Loop
21and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
SJR95,2,23 22Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this resolution to
23his family.
