March 21, 1996 - Introduced by Representatives Ourada, Handrick, Harsdorf,
Hanson, Ainsworth, Seratti, Porter
and Lorge, cosponsored by Senators

Recreation.
AB1060,1,2 1An Act to create 350.10 (3) of the statutes; relating to: regulatory signs along
2snowmobile trails and routes.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, there are numerous traffic regulations that apply
exclusively to snowmobiles. These include speed restrictions and restrictions on the
locations where snowmobiles may be operated. This bill imposes an additional
restriction that a person operating a snowmobile must comply with all snowmobile
regulatory signs along snowmobile routes or trails. Current law defines a
"snowmobile route" to be a highway or sidewalk open to use by snowmobiles and a
"snowmobile trail" to be a corridor across public or private land that is open to the
public for use of snowmobiles.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
