(1) The department shall administer a program to provide assistance to
24persons who served in the U.S. armed forces or in forces incorporated as part of the
1U.S. armed forces and who were discharged under conditions other than
2dishonorable. The department shall provide assistance to persons whose need for
3services is based upon homelessness, incarceration, or other circumstances
4designated by the department by rule. The department shall designate the
5assistance available under this section, which may include assistance in receiving
6medical care, dental care, education, employment, single room occupancy housing,
7and transitional housing. The department may provide payments to facilitate the
8provision of services under this section. From the appropriation under s. 20.485 (2)
9(ac), the department shall provide $15,000 annually during fiscal years 2007-08 and
102008-09 to the Center for Veterans Issues, Ltd., of Milwaukee, to provide outreach
11services to homeless veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.
From the
12appropriation under s. 20.485 (2) (ac), the department shall allocate $67,100 in fiscal
13year 2011-12 and $42,900 in fiscal year 2011-13 to provide assistance to unemployed
14and underemployed veterans for the purposes of receiving employment training and
15locating employment.".

(2r) Job programs. A Wisconsin Works agency shall collaborate with
19the local workforce development board to connect individuals seeking employment
20with employment opportunities, including the trial job program under s. 49.147 (3)
