ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 179

AB179-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB179-AA1,1,4 1. Page 1, line 2: after "contracts" insert "and power of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to appoint and terminate the employment of all executive employees".

AB179-AA1,1,5 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB179-AA1,1,6 " Section 1c. 238.02 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB179-AA1,1,13 238.02 (3) A chief executive officer shall be nominated by the governor, and with the advice and consent of the senate appointed by the board, to serve at the pleasure of the governor board. The board may delegate to the chief executive officer any powers and duties the board considers proper, except that the board may not delegate to the chief executive officer any power to appoint or terminate the employment of any executive employee of the corporation. The chief executive officer shall receive such compensation as may be determined by the board.

AB179-AA1,1h Section 1h. 238.02 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB179-AA1,2,6 238.02 (4) All powers and duties assigned to the corporation under this chapter shall be exercised or carried out by the board, unless the board delegates the power or duty to an employee of the corporation. The board may not delegate to an employee of the corporation any power to appoint or terminate the employment of any executive employee of the corporation.".

AB179-AA1,2,7 3. Page 2, line 1: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1p".
