Update to Wisconsin Shares Copayment Schedule
Table DCF 201.08
Effective November 1, 2018
A new copayment schedule for the Wisconsin Shares child care subsidy program will be effective November 1, 2018.  The schedule is being adjusted to eliminate the disproportionate increases to an assistance group’s copayment amount when the assistance group’s total authorized hours reach 21, 41, and 81 hours.
Under the previous copayment schedule, an assistance group of 3 at 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) with one child authorized for 40 hours would be paying 25% of the $69 base copayment ($17.25). With the addition of one more authorized hour, the assistance group would then be paying 50% of the $69 base copayment ($34.50). The revision of the copayment schedule aligns with the goals of the Child Care Development Block Grant by ensuring that an assistance group’s copayment is increased incrementally and without sudden increases at 21 hours, 41 hours, and 81 hours.
