SB40-SSA1,1630,23 17(1k) Credential assessment. Notwithstanding sections 440.05 (1) and 440.08
18(2) (a) of the statutes, as affected by this act, the department of regulation and
19licensing shall require that each applicant for an initial credential or for renewal of
20a credential pay an assessment of $5, in addition to the fees required under sections
21440.05 (1) and 440.08 (2) (a) of the statutes, as affected by this act. The department
22of regulation and licensing shall deposit all moneys collected under this subsection
23into the general fund. This subsection does not apply after June 30, 2009.

19administrative rule relating to retailer billing procedures or, if such an
20administrative rule has been promulgated, a summary of the promulgated
21administrative rule. If the cochairpersons of the committee do not notify the
22department within 14 working days after the date of submittal of the plan that the
23committee has scheduled a meeting for the purpose of reviewing the plan, the
24department may implement the plan. If, within 14 working days after the date of
25submittal, the cochairpersons of the committee notify the department that the

16entitlement, as defined in section 86.31 (1) (ar) of the statutes, or eligibility under

18under this subsection to any other aids under section 86.31 of the statutes, as affected
19by this act.
SB40-SSA1,1634,3 20(4c) Vehicle emissions testing program study and report. The department of
21transportation shall conduct a study of alternative program models for the vehicle
22emissions inspection and maintenance program under section 110.20 of the statutes,
23as affected by this act, which study shall include examining the possibility of remote
24emissions testing and testing performed by certified motor vehicle dealers that
25electronically transmit test results to the department. By May 1, 2008, the

1department shall submit a report summarizing the results of this study to the chief
2clerk of each house of the legislature for distribution to the appropriate standing
3committee dealing with transportation matters in each house of the legislature.

SB40-SSA1,1634,18 15(a) The department of transportation shall award a grant of $75,000 in each
16fiscal year of the 2007-09 fiscal biennium to a motorcycling organization that is
17composed primarily of motorcycle riders, that includes the promotion of motorcycle
18safety as one of its objectives, and that has statewide membership.
SB40-SSA1,1634,22 19(b) Any grant awarded under paragraph (a) shall be used to conduct a
20"rider-to-rider" campaign to reduce impaired motorcycle riding by educating
21motorcyclists about the dangers of impaired motorcycle riding, with the goal of
22reducing the number of motorcycle accidents, injuries, and fatalities.
SB40-SSA1,1635,2 23(c) After the department of transportation has selected a grant recipient for a
24grant awarded under paragraph (a), the department may not distribute the grant
25funds to the grant recipient until the grant recipient provides to the department a

1proposed budget for use of the grant funds in a manner consistent with paragraph

4recipient shall provide the department of transportation with an audited financial

8transportation submits to the federal department of transportation for federal fiscal
9year 2008 and for federal fiscal year 2009, the state department of transportation
10shall include a proposal to spend $75,000, in that portion of each federal fiscal year
11that coincides with the state fiscal year, to fund an impaired motorcycle riding
12campaign, as described in paragraphs (a) to (d). If this proposal is approved by the
13federal department of transportation, any grant awarded under paragraph (a) for
14the fiscal year for which the proposal is approved shall be paid from the
15appropriation account under section 20.395 (5) (dy) of the statutes within 3 months
16of this approval.

20summer of 2008 for introducing Chinese political, business, and academic leaders
21and practitioners to the Wisconsin Idea, especially as the Wisconsin Idea relates to
22environmental issues in China. The Board of Regents shall prepare a report that
23assesses the environmental, economic, and educational impacts of the course on this
24state and China; recommends whether the course should be continued and, if so, how
25the course may be improved; and assesses how the Wisconsin Idea may be used to

1position the state as a preferred trading partner with China and to position the
2University of Wisconsin as a preferred venue at which to discuss environmental and
3natural resource issues related to China. No later than May 1, 2009, the Board of
4Regents shall submit the report to the appropriate standing committees of the
5legislature in the manner provided under section 13.172 (3) of the statutes.

25department of veterans affairs shall study the long-term health care needs of the

25transferred are transferred to the department of children and families. Upon

1determination of these employees, the secretary of workforce development shall, in
2conjunction with the secretary of health and family services, by October 1, 2007, and
3submit a plan to the secretary of administration requesting the transfer of moneys
4between the general purpose revenue appropriations for the departments of
5workforce development and health and family services and the department of
6children and families, between the program revenue appropriations for the

8department of children and families, between the program revenue-service
9appropriations for the departments of workforce development and health and family
10services and the department of children and families, between the appropriations of

13federal revenue appropriations for the departments of workforce development and
14health and family services and the department of children and families, if necessary
15to adjust previously allocated costs in accordance with the transfer of personnel.

17same rights and status under subchapter V of chapter 111 and chapter 230 of the
18statutes in the department of children and families that they enjoyed in the

21has attained permanent status in class is required to serve a probationary period.

12$500,000 in moneys received in fiscal year 2006-07 or 2007-08 and credited to the

15unexpected or unusually high-cost out-of-home care placements of Indian children
16by tribal courts. The department of children and families may expend moneys under

18needs and after paying federal disallowances under section 20.437 (3) (mm) of the
19statutes, as created by this act, that there are sufficient moneys in the appropriation

21act, to expend for that purpose.
